KARIN VERMEER

Born in Tilburg in 1970 and based in Rotterdam since 1990, Karin Vermeer is an independent artist known for her innovative fusion of digital and traditional techniques. After studying Illustration at the Willem de Kooning Academy, she initially worked as a freelance illustrator before fully dedicating herself to her own art.Inspired by fashion and portraiture, Karin’s work combines photography with manual techniques to delve into themes of beauty, perception, and reality. Each piece begins as a digital design printed onto canvas, which she enhances with  layers of gel, vibrant acrylics, oils, and chrome to create rich texture and

depth. Using a variety of tools, she adds tactile elements before sealing each work with a UV-resistant varnish.

Over her 25-year career, Karin’s portraits, abstracts, and landscapes have captivated collectors and been featured in art collections worldwide, as well as in galleries and exhibitions. Her art continues to push boundaries, blending digital precision with physical artistry in a distinctive and compelling way.
